This page explains the basics of my project!
I started to take on this project around September 2013- about six months ago, but the brainstorming has been going on about a year now. When I decided to pursue this award, I knew I wanted to impact hospitals through my project. I thought a lot about involving children with cancer at first, but I wanted to recognize a less well-known department of the hospital. From this idea came the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
So in a nutshell, my project aims to support families whose children are in the NICU by sewing baby blankets for the hospitalized infants. I will employ the help of volunteers in sewing soft flannel blankets for babies in the NICU.
It should be a little stressful and chaotic but most of all, a whole lot of fun!!
